I don't see why everybody's making excuses for zidane. i've always loathed him. Materazzi can be a real git, everybody knows that. But you gotta be kidding me if you're a professional football player and you can't turn a deaf ear or whatever. The only excuse is that he's human, but to say that its alright for him to do that just because Materazzi was a git is stupid. Just let him be a git, why the hell do you want to lower yourself to his level? So there isn't any reason for Zidane to do whatever he did, except that he's human, and that's it. I can't stand the French coach. He's right up there with Scolari. How dare he say that Pirlo shouldn't be the Man of the Match. Pirlo was brilliant. He's ALWAYS been brilliant. He's not been perfect but he's been great in controlling the pace. Even the most rabid French skipper would admit that.Italy has a few gits, but they have played well and have been the only consistent team this year. Everyone else had peaks and off forms. Minus the USA game, they've been extremely consistent, focused and even if they have a few gits on the team, which team doesn't? portugal has a git for a coach.
If you want to talk professionalism, you just put it this way: "you have Cafu. And then you have Zidane/Rooney." (can't decide which one is more appalling. Rooney, I guess. He's even worse than Zidane when it comes to the overrated scale.)
